LANGTANG REGION TREK:: |
|
The
Langtang region Trek is a highland
inhabited by Sherpas and Tamangs.
Like the Everest region it is
predominately Buddhist territory
abounding with prayer flags and
memorial chortens(Buddhist temples)
to mark every pass and sacred place.
Trekking in Langtang takes you over
the 4080m Ganja-La pass with snowy
peaks to the north and the green
hills to the south.
Go direct to Langtang, or trek by
way of Helambu, where the local
Sherpas are friendly and the women
are renowned for their beauty. Pause
to explore the shores of the holy
lakes, Gosainkund, sacred to Lord
Shiva, from which legend says a
channel, carries water to the tank
at Kumbeshwar Temple in Patan- 60km
to the south
