EVEREST REGION TREK:: |
|
Trekking
in the Everest Region starts at a
much higher altitude (Lukla 2840m)
and straight away you are among the
mountains. This region contains 3 of
the world's 7 highest peaks, Lhotse,
Cho Oyu and of course Mount Everest.
Acclimatization and trekking is in
general more difficult. It is also
slightly more expensive as most
villages are only summer pastures
and you are really out in the wild.
This region is the Sherpa homeland,
Sherpa people renowned for their
good humor, strength, endurance and
mountaineering skills. High mountain
pastures dotted with turquoise lakes
combine with deep gorges and glacier
ice flows in this fabulous alpine
landscape. You will feel like you
are on 'top of the world'.
