Chitawan lies on the plain at the foot of the Himalayan foothills known as the Terai. The park occupies nine hundred square kilometres of virgin jungle forest that separates Nepal from the Indian border. It is inhabited by the Bengal Tiger (only sometimes seen), the rare Asian Rhino, the ferocious sloth bear, a number of species of deer, the "Mugger" and rare "Gharial" crocodiles, and a myriad of beautiful birds and other wildlife not to mention the flora.Elephant back rides into the park provide an ideal opportunity to study the rhino at very close quarters and our guides will give you a useful and interesting insight into all this along with the human aspect that revolves around the park.Chitwan is sold as 3 days 2nights or 4 days 3 nights programme inclusive of all activities, accommodation and ground transfers on tourist bus - so decision to be taken is weather you wish to stay inside the National Park or to stay outside facing the National park.Chitwan is great way to spend or fill a few warm relaxing days after your trek before you leave Nepal.
