This low-altitude trek enables you to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of some of the highest Himalayan peaks. From the terraced rice-fields above Pokhara, we walk along good trails through picturesque Gurung villages and the world’s biggest rhododendron forest which, in spring, bursts with in many different hues. The dawn views of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchare and Annapurna South, from Poon Hill, the vantage spot for viewing, are the highlights of this trek. Short and fairly easy, this trek is a perfect starter for those not sure of their walking ability, or those who wish to make the most of only a few days. The trek finishes at the magnificent lake at Pokhara, where you can add one or two days to the program.
Day 2: Half day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley. Rest of the day preparation for the trek.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara by bus. Overnight at Pokhara Alt. 820m. /2,690 ft. 6 hrs)
Day 4: Drive to Phedi and then trek to Pothana Alt. 1,900m / 6,232 ft. (5 hrs)
Day 5: Trek to Landrung Alt. 1,565m / 5,133 ft. (3 hrs).
Day 6: Trek to Ghandrung Alt. 1,940m / 6,363 ft. (5 hrs).
Day 7: Trek to Tadapani Alt .2,590m / 8,495 ft (4 hrs).
Day 8: Trek to Ghorepani & Poonhill Alt. 3,193m / 10,473 ft. (5 hrs).
Day 9: Trek to Tikhedhunga Alt. 1,600m / 5,248 ft. (5 hrs).
Day 10: Trek to Birethati and then drive back to Pokhara.
